Your first offer partners: materials, terms and selection

An advertiser does not need its first partners simply to increase the number of connected accounts. It needs people who understand the product, reach a relevant audience and explain honestly what happens after a click. Large reach cannot fix an unsuitable geography, an unsupported promise or unclear commercial terms. Start with a small set of useful materials and a practical way to assess compatibility.

This guide covers the cooperation proposal and partner selection before launch. It does not repeat the handling of customer leads: statuses, review deadlines and disputes are covered in a separate article. The outcome here is an advertiser's working pack: a product profile, evidence for claims, sample materials, questions for partners and a decision about the next step.

Every example is educational. The fictional document review service is not an offer in the AffiliateCore catalogue. Numbers do not represent customer results. The method concerns an ordinary product without gambling, investment offers or promises of returns. Eligibility for a particular product, region and source must be confirmed separately; a category in a form guarantees nothing.

1. Describe a useful action before asking for reach

Start with the user's situation. In our example, a small team loses comments on documents across different conversations. The service brings comments into one workspace. A suitable partner article explains the review process and its limitations. An unsuitable one promises to solve every management problem or save a specific amount without supporting measurements.

Write three sentences: who the product serves, which specific task it helps with and who it currently does not suit. The last point matters. If a required interface language, integration or region is unavailable, the partner needs to know before producing anything. A limitation hidden until after registration becomes a complaint and additional support work.

Separate the reader's action from the rewarded event. A reader might open a help page, watch a demonstration or ask a question. None automatically becomes a payable conversion. Agree the event, verification method and payment model against the actual integration. A training plan can describe a desired action without presenting it as a supported platform feature.

2. Build a product profile with clear boundaries

Use one page to identify the product owner, working landing page, service purpose, support languages, available regions and material restrictions. Assign an owner and last review date to each item. “Available worldwide” is no substitute for checking availability, service terms and advertising rules in the intended market.

Keep three questions separate: can the person use the product, may this channel promote it, and does AffiliateCore admit this particular offer? A positive answer to one does not answer the others. A country list in an account is not a legal opinion either. Mark unknown answers as requiring confirmation and do not send traffic there.

Include a product contact and a contact for partner terms. They can be the same person, but their responsibilities should be clear. For the fictional service, specify support, file handling and trial limitations. Do not place real customer documents in the pack. Use an empty template or clearly labelled synthetic data instead.

3. Turn promises into verifiable statements

Create a short register containing the wording, evidence, limitations, reviewer and next review date. “Comments appear in one workspace” can be checked in the current product. “Teams review documents twice as fast” needs a sound study; an interface demonstration does not establish it. Without that evidence, describe the feature itself.

Check each screenshot for the interface version, usage rights and personal data. Comparisons need the same task and conditions. Testing only your own product does not establish superiority over competitors. Educational content can explain selection criteria without a “best products” ranking or invented testimonials.

List statements that partners must avoid: guaranteed results, nonexistent discounts, false scarcity, promised approval or claims of personal experience without actual use. Explain the acceptable alternative as well as the restriction. Replace “suitable for everyone” with the task and conditions in which the feature was verified. This gives an editor something useful to work with instead of vague prohibitions.

4. Provide a pack that makes sense without a call

The minimum pack contains a short description, product profile, approved factual claims, images, cooperation terms and a contact. Start with one main use case and two formats, such as an illustrated guide and a short demonstration. Dozens of banners will not help an author who does not understand what the audience will see.

Give files understandable names and version numbers. Beside each image, explain whether partners may resize it, crop it, translate labels or use the logo separately. For video, identify usable segments and how the relationship should be disclosed. Remove old files from the working folder while keeping an archive of previously agreed materials.

Educational pack diagram: reader's task → verified feature → demonstration → limitations → voluntary next step. This illustrates editorial preparation, not a screenshot or an integrated AffiliateCore workflow.

Once your pack is prepared, you can register as an AffiliateCore advertiser. Complete the required information and clarify product requirements. Registration does not automatically establish eligibility or make an offer ready to launch.

5. Explain terms before the first piece of content

A partner needs to know the proposed event, how attribution is determined, which sources are allowed and which restrictions apply. List geography, languages and the treatment of brand search, mailing lists and incentivised actions separately. Do not interpret silence as permission: agree any uncertain source in writing.

State a payment model and its terms only after confirming support. Do not confuse the partner's rate with the advertiser's full cost or promise payment for every enquiry. Review periods, financial constraints and change procedures should be available before someone invests time in content. Setting an affordable rate is a separate task covered in the partner cost article.

Identify who checks factual statements, who approves changes and where questions go. Partners must retain the ability to describe genuine limitations; approval should not demand false praise. Explain a new condition before the next placement if it changes the original proposal, and retain the previous version. Do not rewrite agreements retrospectively.

6. Look for audience fit rather than the largest numbers

Define a suitable partner before reviewing applications: subject area, language, geography, format, willingness to show limitations and a transparent acquisition method. For our fictional service, a small author covering work processes may fit better than a large entertainment channel. That is a hypothesis to test, not a universal relationship between audience size and quality.

Read several public pieces by the candidate. Can they explain a task? Do they distinguish advertising from independent opinion? Does the content language match the landing page? Request only information needed for the decision. A site link and an explanation of working methods are usually more useful at this stage than a subscriber list with personal contact details.

Record a separate conclusion for each criterion. Avoid an opaque score that lets reach compensate for an unacceptable source. Critical restrictions are admission conditions: an unapproved region or misleading format stops the discussion. Missing examples can be clarified; a request to conceal advertising cannot be repaired by promising more traffic.

7. Make contact voluntary and specific

Use a channel the person has designated for business proposals, or respond to expressed interest. Do not treat a public contact detail as general consent to bulk messages. Check channel rules and applicable communication requirements. Do not collect personal address databases or bypass platform restrictions.

The first message should connect the author's topic with the product task. Educational example: “You cover collaborative document work. We have a demonstration of our comments feature and a list of limitations. If you consider partner content, we can send a short outline of the terms.” This offers a choice without implying that cooperation has already been agreed.

Do not attach a large archive without being asked or demand an urgent decision. Stop after a refusal. Silence is not consent; assess any further contact separately for permission and relevance. Contact records should help respect the person's choice rather than increase pressure. A useful measure is a meaningful response from a suitable candidate, not the number of messages sent.

8. Assess a partner application with a short discussion

Ask the same core questions: whom they serve, what content they propose, where visitors will come from, which region is involved and what next step the reader will see. Request one example of similar work and an explanation of advertising disclosure. Do not demand guaranteed volume or results: an estimate and a commitment are different.

Educational selection example. Author A proposes a guide for small teams in a supported language and will show limitations. Author B proposes a bulk mailing to a purchased list with unclear provenance. With A, clarify format and terms. With B, there is no basis to proceed to placement, even if the claimed reach is larger. This is a decision about a cooperation method, not a judgement of the person.

A third situation is insufficient information. A candidate may omit audience geography. Request aggregate information or an explanation of the estimation method, not visitors' personal data. Record what remains unknown and who will respond. Partner selection is different from reviewing an end customer's lead: its purpose is to decide whether joint content can be discussed at all.

9. Agree educational content and transparency

A useful guide should answer the reader's question even without registration. Show the task, steps, limitations and an alternative such as performing the process manually. If an important feature requires a particular plan, say so beside its description, not after the click. Never present demonstration data as a real customer's result.

Readers should understand the author's commercial relationship with the product. The FTC's guidance for creators illustrates an approach to prominent disclosure. It is a US source, not a universal legal rule for every region. Check required labels and channel obligations separately for your market.

For paid links on websites, Google recommends rel="sponsored"; see the Google documentation. This technical attribute does not replace a visible explanation of the relationship for readers. Check both levels: an honest message for people and appropriate link qualification for search engines.

10. Rehearse the journey before launch

Ask a colleague who did not assemble the pack to follow the reader's path through the agreed material. Are purpose, language, limitations and the next step clear? Does the wording match the landing page? Do links work on a phone? The review should identify contradictions before a real audience encounters them.

Use an authorised test environment or inspection without creating a payable event. Do not generate fictitious paid conversions or publish a training offer in the real catalogue. If there is no test mode, agree a safe verification method with the responsible team. Educational route: content → landing page → understandable action → technical check → readiness decision.

Record the defect, correction owner and repeat check. “The link works” is insufficient if it opens the wrong language or promises different terms. Readiness means no known critical contradictions, not proven effectiveness of a future placement. Performance measurement comes later and requires its own agreed plan.

11. Assess preparation without inventing forecasts

In an educational example, the team reviews 12 voluntary enquiries: four fail the geography criteria, three fail the source criteria, two lack information and three meet the initial conditions. Check the total: 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 12. The currently confirmed fit rate is 3 / 12 = 25%. The two unresolved applications should be counted as neither suitable nor finally rejected.

This proportion describes only that sample and those criteria. It does not forecast sales, profit or the size of an available network. If every candidate misunderstands the rewarded event, fix the description first. If questions concern different regions, improve the product profile. A recurring question can be more useful than an average.

Keep a simple record: enquiry date, platform, proposed format, confirmed conditions, open question and agreed next step. Avoid unnecessary personal data. A regular document is enough for a small team; this guide does not suggest that AffiliateCore automatically calculates compatibility or keeps this record for you.

12. Decide the next step

Before handing over the proposal, check the pack: the reader's task is clear, eligibility is clarified, claims have evidence, material rights are known, terms are accessible, sources are agreed, commercial relationships will be disclosed and contact is voluntary. Assign someone to maintain it. End with a specific decision: discuss a limited placement, request clarification or decline cooperation for now.

If you already have an account, sign in to the advertiser area and use your company's offers section to prepare your own draft once access and mandatory requirements are satisfied. Creating a draft does not publish it; review and moderation still apply. Select your company in the account rather than using a guessed address for another tenant.

Listing an offer does not guarantee responses or a ready network of partners. The practical result is more modest and more useful: you can explain who fits, what supports each promise and which question must be resolved before launch. That pack supports a conversation about a real product without pressure, invented results or ambiguous expectations.
