How to make your offer clear and useful to publishers

Your result: a publisher understands the offer without guessing

An attractive offer need not promise the highest payout. It lets a partner understand who needs the product, which route is permitted, what counts as a result and what resources are required. This guide helps you prepare a proposition, evidence and materials for the first publisher discussion. It complements the launch-terms brief: the brief records agreements, while packaging helps someone assess product–audience fit.

You need a real landing page, substantiated product properties, payment terms and someone responsible for questions. If the product cannot yet be supplied or results cannot be confirmed, promotional promises will not solve that. Prepare a draft and list the checks still outstanding.

1. Begin with the customer's problem

Complete this sentence: “The product helps this audience perform this task under these conditions.” Avoid “for everyone”, “best service” and “guaranteed results”. They neither explain what content a partner should create nor supply evidence for the claim.

An illustrative rewrite: instead of “an innovative business platform”, use “an invoice-preparation tool for small teams that need document exports; supported formats are listed on the page”. This fictional product is not an available AffiliateCore offer. The example illustrates wording, not approval of that category on the platform.

List three questions customers ask before acting: does it fit my task, what does it cost, and what happens after an enquiry? Put the answers on the landing page. If an advertisement promises one thing and the page demands another, a publisher must explain the mismatch or decline the offer.

2. Translate features into verifiable benefits

For each claim, record feature → benefit → evidence → limitation. For example: “export to a named format → less manual copying → a real sample file → only the listed document types are supported”. Do not turn assumed time savings into measured results.

For any number, retain the measurement method, period and conditions. Without data, use a qualitative statement. An interface screenshot does not prove increased sales. Customer logos and testimonials need an appropriate basis for use; do not invent clients to make a proposition convincing.

Advertiser registration with AffiliateCore can follow preparation of this description. Registration does not automatically approve a product or attract interested partners. First check whether your category and proposed activity satisfy current admission requirements.

3. Distinguish customer messaging from partner messaging

A customer needs the product's benefit. A publisher also needs clear rules, usable materials, measurable outcomes and enough information to evaluate economics. These are different messages.

Illustrative customer flow: need → product value → relevant partner content → landing page → confirmed action. The partner's work follows another route: understand the offer → check source eligibility → estimate resources → agree a test. A recruitment message inviting publishers to collaborate is not an advertisement for customers.

Describe the contexts that fit: feature comparisons, instructions or answers to a specific question. Do not demand sensitive personal data to prove audience interest. An evidence-based source description and permitted aggregate observations are sufficient for this initial assessment.

4. Define the payable action in plain language

A model name is not an event definition. Explain what a visitor does, which event confirms it, how duplicates are handled, when a decision is made and how rejection reasons are communicated. RevShare needs a separate definition of revenue and adjustments; a deposit is not itself revenue.

An illustrative enquiry definition is: “A new confirmed enquiry meeting the agreed conditions is payable; repeat enquiries from the same customer are checked under a specified rule.” You must then provide those conditions, the repeat rule and the decision deadline. “Quality lead” alone is not an acceptance criterion.

AffiliateCore's current CPL implementation uses a registration event. Do not promise that any arbitrary CRM lead will automatically be accounted for correctly: the event and integration need checking. An affiliate link records a visit; confirming the result requires the advertiser to transmit an event.

5. Prepare a usable materials package

Keep three layers separate:

  • Mandatory rules: eligible products, countries, ages, sources, prohibited claims and required disclosures.
  • Suggested presentation: topics, arguments and examples a partner may adapt.
  • Rights-cleared materials: logos, images, real demonstrations and text with a defined language, purpose, validity period and permission to use.

Explain what each image shows and what it does not establish. Do not present a drawn interface as a real screenshot. Provide short and extended copy without demanding identical publications from every partner. Content should help readers decide, consistent with Google's guidance on useful content.

Advertisers can currently upload images and an overall description to an offer; administrators can preview them. Complete publisher delivery of the package and separate per-image copy fields are not finished. Do not treat these as available functions: agree separately how permitted materials will reach the publisher.

6. Make limitations visible

Hidden conditions cause disputes after money has been spent. Place suitability limits alongside advantages: countries, support language, mandatory steps, confirmation timing, caps and prohibited sources.

For regulated products, check the specific country and platform. A category in a form proves neither product legality nor advertising permission. Do not disguise destinations, promise customers earnings or exploit vulnerable audiences. Excluding an unsuitable source before testing is preferable to disputed conversions afterward.

7. Check economic clarity with an illustrative calculation

Assume a $20 payout per confirmed result. With 100 visits, 5 submitted enquiries and 3 confirmations, the publisher accrues 3 × $20 = $60, not 5 × $20 = $100. If placement and preparation cost $70, the illustrative difference is −$10 before other costs. This is neither a conversion forecast nor a payout promise.

Advertisers must separately account for platform commission and other expenses. Do not describe the publisher's payout as the complete acquisition cost. This example checks whether both parties understand the calculation basis; it is not a universal recommended rate. Your own product data is needed to set an affordable budget.

8. Test comprehension before publication

Give the draft to a colleague who did not prepare it. Without prompts, ask who the customer is, what is offered, which event is payable, what is prohibited, how results are verified and what a test requires. Record wrong or missing answers. This is an editorial comprehension test, not proof of market demand.

Ready means no contradictions between advertisement, offer and landing page; every mandatory item has an answer; material claims have evidence; links work; integration and reconciliation are defined. Attractive banners cannot replace these conditions.

Your worksheet and next step

Prepare a one-page proposition with six blocks: audience, task, verifiable value, event and terms, materials, restrictions. Add the version date and question owner. Then write three reasons a sensible publisher might decline. Fix genuine problems or make the limitations explicit rather than hiding them.

Create an AffiliateCore advertiser account if you want to prepare your own offer using this structure. Existing users can sign in as advertisers. In the current process, advertisers save a draft and choose publication after the required checks; an administrator may stop the offer. Publication does not guarantee traffic. Do not place fictional or third-party offers in the live catalogue merely to complete this exercise.
