Cloudflare adds DNS quota warnings
A new warning helps teams check DNS capacity before connecting domains, email services and operational subdomains.
On October 6, 2026, Cloudflare added warnings at 85% of the applicable zone or account DNS-record quota.
Why it matters
This concerns website owners and advertiser or publisher technical teams using Cloudflare; the announcement specifies no regional restriction. A new domain or email service may require additional records. The warning prompts a capacity check; it does not establish an outage or lost traffic.
Editorial checklist
Open the relevant account’s DNS section and identify the limit behind the indicator. Compare remaining capacity with planned integrations. Do not assume one zone’s spare capacity describes the whole account.
Inventory records with their purpose and owner. Before deleting anything, check dependencies: email, ownership verification, certificates and active subdomains may rely on inconspicuous records. Save a configuration export and recovery plan. Do not remove TXT records merely because they do not send visitors to a website.
For a new integration, document required records, available capacity and the approval owner. If capacity is insufficient, review your plan’s terms or unnecessary integrations first. Do not automatically change payment settings.
Readiness means understood capacity and checked dependencies, not merely a disappearing banner. After an approved change, verify affected websites, email and services. These are editorial recommendations, not new AffiliateCore functionality.
