Cloudflare MCP: fixing an /sse 410 connection error

On October 22, 2026, Cloudflare announced that its product-specific MCP servers now serve only /mcp. Requests to /sse return 410 Gone with the replacement URL, which most clients display in their connection error. This concerns Cloudflare’s servers, not every MCP service.

A publisher using an agent for documentation or website diagnostics should distinguish a disconnected tool from a broken website or missing conversions. Existing /mcp connections are unaffected. If you previously signed in through /sse, your client will ask you to authenticate again.

Our suggested check

  1. Identify the connection in your client settings. Record its server, endpoint and error; save the previous configuration without tokens, passwords or other secrets.
  2. Match the server against Cloudflare’s official catalog. Change only that endpoint from /sse to /mcp. The documentation server uses docs.mcp.cloudflare.com (/mcp). Do not apply this replacement to unrelated services.
  3. If authentication is requested again, confirm the same account and agreed permission scopes. Do not grant broader access just to clear an error. Stop and investigate unexpected permission requests.
  4. Run one read-only request, such as a documentation search. Check the actual response and available client logs for the endpoint, time and success or precise error. This connection check requires no DNS, website code or site configuration changes.

Two teaching examples

Old documentation endpoint returns 410. Its configuration still ends in /sse. Verify the official replacement, update the endpoint and repeat the same search. A successful response confirms that tool works again, not that the entire conversion funnel works.

The endpoint already uses /mcp. An unrelated error needs separate connection and authentication checks. Keep the error message; do not reconfigure the website blindly.

Check clicks and conversions separately in your AffiliateCore publisher account. We do not claim an integration with these MCP servers.
