Microsoft Monetize: deal diagnostics and adapter preparation
Microsoft announced Copilot updates and a future AppNexus shutdown reminder. What advertising inventory owners should check.
On October 21, 2026, Microsoft published Monetize updates for teams managing advertising inventory. Copilot now includes deal diagnostics: the assistant checks setup and delivery, suggests possible reasons for missing spend, and proposes next steps. Reporting results can also be displayed as charts.
This concerns Monetize, not a new feature in AffiliateCore’s partner dashboard. Organizations should check availability in their own account. A cause suggested by the assistant still requires specialist verification.
Microsoft separately reminds publishers of the planned AppNexus adapter shutdown in early 2027. That is a future milestone, not a shutdown today. The OpenRTB signal forwarding discussed in the same roundup began in August; we do not describe it as an October 21 launch.
Our verification checklist
If your team uses Monetize, select a problematic deal and record its period, identifier and expected delivery. Compare Copilot’s findings with settings and reports; agree any change with the advertising owner.
Ask the site’s technical owner to check which adapter is deployed. Plan migration using current documentation, with consent and impression tests and a rollback option. Do not replace a working integration based only on a news headline.
Advertisers can request a verified delivery status from the publisher. An ad impression does not itself confirm a lead or sale. This is an editorial checklist, not a revenue promise. Source checked October 21, 2026; the cover is illustrative.
