Creator placements: the brief, asset rights and acceptance checks

What the publisher is buying

This guide concerns Russia and Russian-speaking small-store operators in a region served by the software provider. Language does not replace country checks. Sources were reviewed on 18 October 2026. The product is ordinary inventory-management software, promoted through a direct integration on a creator's own specialist website. Neither gambling nor circumvention of advertising restrictions belongs in these examples.

The publisher buys the creator's work and space for a useful demonstration, then earns affiliate commission only for the result defined by the offer. These are separate obligations. A creator can meet the brief and generate few suitable enquiries; conversely, good lead volume does not repair unlicensed photography or undisclosed advertising. Maintain two acceptance records: one for the publication and another for commercial results.

The deliverable is a verifiable commission: why this creator was selected, what is demonstrated, which rights each party receives, how a defect is corrected and when the economics close. This is not another Telegram-buying guide, OK advertising walkthrough or YouTube setup tutorial. Both scenarios are invented. USD figures are independent teaching assumptions, not exchange-rate conversions, platform prices or AffiliateCore customer results. Both worked examples belong to a hypothetical direct programme run by the developer, with billing in a separate external ledger. Payment for an accepted demo request is not a verified AffiliateCore capability. Never relabel a demo as reg or ftd to fit an event configuration.

Assess editorial fit before audience size

Shortlist three creators who already explain small-store operations. Read five recent substantive pieces from each: what problem do they solve, who benefits, and where does explanation become selling? A large productivity audience may have little interest in stock reconciliation. Record an observable match between the reader's problem and the software rather than simply saying the followers resemble your customers.

Request aggregate information for a comparable period: readership in served countries, ordinary tutorial views, outbound visits, where the piece appears in navigation and the share of sponsored content. Metrics without a time window and an event definition cannot be compared. Do not request reader lists or contact details. If statistics are unavailable, record uncertainty. You may buy bounded exposure to uncertainty, but you cannot invent precision to justify it.

The selection record contains the creator's subject, a relevant sample, audience and unknowns, format, permitted URL, price and deliverables, nearby competing integrations, seller authority, asset-rights checks and a reason to select or decline. Verify the seller through contact details on the real website and agreed ownership evidence, not a forwarded screenshot alone. Never give the creator your account password or access to customer records.

Ask whether the creator can explain the product naturally while retaining an honest limitation. A scripted endorsement or a demand to hide the advertising label is a poor fit. Both parties benefit from a right to reject unsupported claims. The purchase is specific creative work, not a guaranteed positive opinion or an invented account of personal use.

Placement authority and permission for every asset

Before reserving a slot, check the resource, advertising placement, contract, target region and product. Ownership of a website does not automatically permit every advertisement. Moving the proposal to a social account requires separate checks of current status, applicable registration and platform rules. Approval for one domain does not extend to all the creator's accounts. Do not use mirrors or concealed redirects to bypass an unavailable route.

Distinguish control of the page from ownership of files. A creator may publish there without owning its music, photographs or third-party application imagery. WIPO explains that protected works generally require permission for use. [1] Our proposed asset register records the file, rights holder, permission evidence, permitted actions, term, territory and attribution. Paying for a placement should never be treated as transferring every right to the buyer.

For the teaching order, agree that the creator hosts the approved tutorial on one domain for 30 days. The publisher may retain an evidentiary copy but may not turn the creator's video into a new advertising campaign. Extracts, translation, republication, name and likeness use, source files and paid amplification require separate permission and pricing. Do not purchase unnecessary rights as a vague precaution. Agree what happens when the term expires and whether an archival copy remains.

Creative Commons licences differ, including conditions concerning commercial use and adaptation. [2] Inspect the actual licence and original asset page. Demonstrate the software using an authorised test account with synthetic products: no real shoppers, tokens, payment data or business documents. The creator's permission does not replace the developer's permission for supplied promotional assets. Record the evidence before producing a final edit.

A brief that can be accepted item by item

The teaching product manages inventory for small retailers. The reader wants to know whether importing a spreadsheet helps locate a mismatch between stock on shelves and recorded quantities. The action is a voluntary request for a demonstration from an eligible business, not a purchase promise. Consider our platform AffiliateCore first: create a publisher profile, then check for a suitable offer and permission for this creator source. This guide does not claim that a particular software offer exists. Any AffiliateCore route requires verification of the actual supported payable event and configuration. Without a compatible event, keep demo billing in the direct programme and external ledger; do not rename demos as registrations or first deposits.

Working brief: “Using ten invented products, demonstrate spreadsheet upload, one invalid row and its correction. Explain the input requirements and the work that remains manual. Include three original screenshots from the approved test account. Invite readers operating a suitable store to request a demonstration. Do not promise a fixed percentage saving, automatic compatibility or guaranteed revenue growth without supporting evidence.” This defines observable work rather than demanding a flattering review.

Specify one article at the agreed URL, mobile readability, visible advertising and affiliate disclosure, one approved link, a publication date, 30 days of availability, one factual revision round and a report after seven days. Name the technical reviewer, final approver and substitute when someone is unavailable. Correct demonstrable errors; do not require an honest judgement to become positive merely because the placement is paid.

Supply a package containing verified features, prohibited claims, a synthetic sample file, authorised images, a glossary, the destination journey and a technical contact. Version each file. A final package link and freeze date make acceptance reproducible. Product changes after approval require a new request with a time and cost estimate, rather than unlimited unpaid revision. The author should know which version was actually approved.

Publication acceptance, disclosure and remedies

Our recommended sequence is: approve the outline, review the rough demonstration, check text and rights, receive the final layout, confirm disclosure and link, then inspect the published URL. Assign an owner and response deadline at every stage. Silence from an approver is not consent to publication. Agree rescheduling rules when the product or required assets are not ready on time.

For the described online advertising, Article 18.1 of Law 38-FZ, parts 3/5, requires qualifying participants to provide or ensure information through an advertising data operator (ORD). Parts 16/17 require the Russian label “реклама”, advertiser identification and/or a page with advertiser information, and an ORD identifier. [5] Roskomnadzor Order 68 of 25 March 2025, paragraph 3, places identifier assignment before distribution; paragraph 10 describes erid in the URL, while paragraphs 11–12 permit a visible erid label in specified text, image or video positions. [6] Government Rules 974 govern information transfer and timing; check the applicable procedure, including paragraph 10, for the actual contract and format. [7] In practice, name the ORD workflow owner, obtain the identifier before publication, inspect the advertising label, advertiser information and erid placement in the final layout, and retain reporting proof. This does not approve any particular website. Confirm applicability to the actual resource and contract; a contract or OK instructions alone do not establish compliance.

On the creator's website, account for search-engine rules: Google recommends rel="sponsored" for advertising links. [4] That machine-readable attribute is not a visible ad label or an indexing guarantee. Do not replace a substantive integration with a promise of a permanent dofollow link. Avoid invisible blocks and post-approval destination changes that conceal a different product. Reader disclosure and search annotation serve different purposes.

The acceptance sheet asks whether the URL and version match the brief, the import example works, limitations are visible, disclosure and rights are present, the link functions, personal data is absent and the article reads on a phone. Save a date, screenshot and issue list. A lack of enquiries is not a delivery defect unless the contract guaranteed them. Conversely, fixing an incorrect link must not depend on how many customers have already arrived.

Define measurable defects in advance: a missing demonstration section, wrong link or early removal. Agree a correction deadline and a specific extension or partial refund. Do not invent a penalty or withhold all payment over subjective dissatisfaction. Missing rights, exposed personal data or required disclosure that has disappeared call for stopping distribution and correction, rather than waiting for a revenue report. Keep the remedy proportional to the agreed defect.

From the article to an accepted outcome

In both examples the journey is creator tutorial → developer page → demo request → review in an external ledger → decision and payment by the hypothetical direct programme. This is not an AffiliateCore payable demo event. An AffiliateCore campaign route applies only after its actual supported payable event and configuration have been verified. Compatible campaign links support sub1/sub2/sub3, such as author, article_a and import_v1; these describe sources, not personal details. Agree external identifiers with the developer. Contracts, licences and disputes remain separate; no automatic external-ledger import or creator marketplace is claimed.

Before release, check the mobile journey, language, service availability and preservation of permitted labels. Arrange any technical event as a non-payable test; do not create a fake sale. The exercise attributes an enquiry to the last eligible click within seven days, pays a repeat from the same business within 30 days only once, and closes reconciliation 14 days after acquisition ends. These are example terms, not default platform rules. These terms apply only to the hypothetical external direct programme.

An eligible enquiry comes from an adult representative of a served store who voluntarily requests a demonstration, supplies a working contact method and confirms the relevant task. An existing customer, unsupported region or job application does not qualify merely because there was a click. Agree reasons and review procedures beforehand, including two contact attempts at different times and a dispute route. Unreviewed submissions remain pending rather than automatically becoming cancellations.

Keep linked records: the publication with its version and cost, and the enquiry cohort with pseudonymous IDs, timestamps, source, status and reason. Views, sessions and leads are different events. Keep unknown attribution separate. Do not assign a later visit from another source to the creator based only on a customer's recollection. Commission settlement and cash already paid to the creator also have different dates, so include the funding gap in planning.

Two independent records

Publication: brief → rights → version → acceptance. Direct programme: request → review → decision → billing.

Scenario one: a focused specialist tutorial

Hypothesis: readers of a practical store-management website will value the import demonstration and request a suitable software walkthrough. Select the creator after reviewing five stock-management articles. Publish one piece with three authorised screenshots and an invalid-row example. Acceptance confirms all deliverables. Acquisition lasts seven days; the article remains for 30 days, while later events belong to a separate cohort rather than silently enlarging the first test.

Full budget: creator work and placement USD 240; demonstration preparation and factual editing USD 60; agreed asset permissions USD 40; eight coordination hours at USD 10 = USD 80; page and measurement allocation USD 20; administration and mandatory contractual expenses USD 40. Total USD 480. Invoices are assumed final, including invoiced taxes. Add any compulsory charge not already included. Business-owner income tax is excluded: this is campaign contribution before that tax, not personal net income.

Invented observations: 12,000 article views, 600 measured landing visits and 40 enquiries. Six are duplicates, four fail the agreed region or business conditions and two fail the agreed validation. Of 28 provisionally suitable enquiries, four are withdrawn before final acceptance. There are 24 accepted and none pending: 40 − 6 − 4 − 2 − 4 = 24. Reasons are mutually exclusive and never counted twice.

At USD 30 each, revenue is 24 × 30 = USD 720; contribution after all campaign costs is USD 240. Accepted-enquiry cost is USD 20, return on cost 50%, and contribution share of revenue 33.33%. Raw enquiry cost of USD 12 concealed attrition. Break-even needs 16 accepted outcomes; eight further reversals erase the contribution. For a planned buffer of 20% of commission, maximum unit cost is USD 24 and at least 20 accepted results are needed.

Decision: repeat a limited order after reconciliation closes, provided rights and quality remain valid. A positive result does not prove incremental demand; some readers may already know the product. Do not increase price, format and volume simultaneously. A new article should solve another real task, carry another source code and receive its own budget. Reusing the same copy does not guarantee the same response.

Scenario two: a broad roundup and a documented refund

The second creator runs a popular productivity website. A roundup of five ways to spend less time in spreadsheets attracts curious readers, but only some operate shops. The brief still requires a genuine demonstration, audience limits and image rights. Record the risk hypothesis before commissioning: reach can increase while the qualified share falls. This is a hypothetical ordinary-software experiment, not a way to conceal unsuitable readers.

Budget: creator and placement USD 420, preparation and editing USD 90, permissions USD 60, 12 coordination hours at USD 10 = USD 120, page and measurement USD 30, administration and mandatory contractual expenses USD 60. Total USD 780 before income tax. Tax and fee inclusion follows the previous example. Paid rework belongs in editing; do not count the same hours again under coordination to inflate a claim.

The invented outcome is 30,000 views, 1,000 visits and 60 enquiries. Twelve are duplicates, ten concern an unsupported business or region, and eight fail agreed criteria. Of 30 provisionally suitable enquiries, six miss the agreed demonstration, four withdraw and two contain confirmed invalid details. Under the example agreement, all twelve are excluded before final confirmation. Accepted: 60 − 12 − 10 − 8 − 6 − 4 − 2 = 18; none pending.

Revenue is 18 × 30 = USD 540; contribution is −USD 240; accepted-enquiry cost USD 43.33; return on cost −30.77%. Break-even needs 26 accepted results, and the 20% buffer needs 33. Sixty raw enquiries are no reason to keep buying. With other costs fixed at USD 360 and 18 accepted outcomes, the maximum creator price for that buffer is 18 × 24 − 360 = USD 72. This is the model's negotiation ceiling, not an objective valuation of the creator's work.

A separate delivery defect is evidenced: an agreed section was absent for part of the term. After correction, the parties document a USD 90 refund and the money is actually returned. Revised cost becomes USD 690, contribution −USD 150, accepted-enquiry cost USD 38.33, and break-even requires 23 results. The refund reduces cost, not lead-quality problems. Do not lower actual cost before the evidence and money arrive; a promised future bonus is not a refund.

Decision: stop expansion, repair editorial fit and close the delivery dispute separately. Unauthorised reuse, a wrong link or missing required disclosure prompts an immediate pause. Weak economics means declining the next order after mature reconciliation. Pending enquiries are not income. Another test requires a materially justified brief and bounded exposure, not merely a cosmetic headline change intended to reproduce the same weak placement.

Full economic check

1: 24 × 30 − 480 = +240 USD.

2: 18 × 30 − 780 = −240 USD.

2: 780 − 90 = 690; 18 × 30 − 690 = −150 USD.

Before commissioning another creator

Review in order: contract delivery, rights, audience fit, journey integrity, dominant rejection reasons, completed windows and full costs. A creator's mistake and insufficient demand are different disputes. One suspicious spike does not prove manufactured traffic. Retain aggregate evidence and ask for an explanation without gathering unnecessary personal information. Record what remains unknown instead of resolving uncertainty in favour of a larger budget.

Practical assignment: complete records for three creators, choose one, prepare a demonstration file and rights register, then calculate both scenarios using your own cost assumptions. Before prepayment, know the approver, exact deliverable, licence, date, link, disclosure, acceptance rules, revision price, refund mechanism and maximum loss. Resolve any missing item rather than replacing it with an impressive reach promise.

With the brief ready, sign in to the AffiliateCore publisher panel and compare the source against an available campaign. If no suitable offer exists, retain the profile and assets or agree a direct programme with the developer. The platform can support an authorised measurement journey but does not replace the creator contract or guarantee enquiries. The Russia source map provides the broader channel context. Any AffiliateCore route requires verification of the actual supported payable event and configuration. Without a compatible event, keep demo billing in the direct programme and external ledger; do not rename demos as registrations or first deposits.

Sources and limits

Checked on 18 October 2026: normative texts S5–S7 were read in ConsultantPlus reproductions, not on a government website; official-host access was limited. Law 38-FZ: version dated 4 August 2026; Order 68: 25 March 2025; Rules 974: version dated 18 September 2025. Baseline verification does not approve an actual placement. Economics concern an external hypothetical programme, not an AffiliateCore payable demo.
