Yandex Business and Maps: from an accurate listing to a completed order

What this guide helps you decide

People open a map for different reasons. Someone wants a nearby repair shop now; another person checks the address of a business they already know; a third compares providers before calling. A useful listing answers those needs without pretending that every interaction is a new customer. Your deliverable is an accurate listing, an enquiry ledger and a defensible decision about the next advertising commitment.

This guide concerns the Russian market and specifically Yandex Business and Maps. It does not transfer rules from 2GIS or repeat a directory comparison. Official documentation was checked on 18 October 2026. Confirm the products, account eligibility and contractual terms available to your business before paying. An English version does not establish availability in an English-speaking country.

Both worked scenarios are invented teaching models, not AffiliateCore customer results. Their USD amounts are independent budgeting assumptions, not exchange-rate conversions or Yandex prices. The examples cover bicycle servicing and cleaning. You can prepare the listing and calculate the economics without joining an affiliate network.

Distinguish a listing from an advertising purchase

A listing describes a real business: where it operates, what it does and how people contact it. An advertising subscription buys exposure across several surfaces. Consequently, the subscription's total outcomes cannot all be attributed to Maps. Priority placement is a separate product. The documentation currently restricts it to chains; a single location is directed towards the subscription or branded placement. Do not choose a product from an outdated screenshot alone.

The subscription documentation specifies Russia and Kazakhstan and a minimum term of 90 days. A two-week quality checkpoint therefore does not make the purchase a two-week contract. Before payment, record the entire commitment, duration, available campaign changes and verified refund terms. Do not assume unused funds are refundable. See the official subscription guide and priority-placement guide.

Define the question before buying: are you testing listing improvements, promotion of a branch or the entire advertising package? If photographs, opening hours, prices and spending change together, the subsequent increase cannot confidently be credited to one change. Save a baseline and a dated change log. Before-and-after observation is useful diagnosis; without a suitable comparison, it does not prove incremental sales.

Establish ownership and the real service location

Search by business name and address before creating anything. Check the telephone, entrance and business category. A duplicate can fragment reviews and confuse visitors. If the existing listing is yours, request access through the official process. The ability to suggest a public correction does not authorize you to represent the company. An agency needs delegated access from the owner.

The documented verification process uses a telephone accessible to the business. Incorrect details should be corrected first. Avoid publishing an employee's private number merely to simplify verification. Keep ownership with the business, assign the contractor a separate role, and identify who can remove that access when the engagement ends. Consult ownership verification for the actual process.

Check normal hours, holidays, floor, entrance and whether appointments are required. A mobile service should describe its actual service area rather than invent offices in neighbouring districts. Completion means an authorized employee can manage the correct organization and a prospective customer can understand where to go or whether a visit to their premises is available.

Prepare a package that someone can accept or reject

Start with one principal service. A bicycle workshop might offer inspection and maintenance rather than promise every repair within a fixed time. A cleaning business should specify the premises and included tasks. Write the service name, scope, exclusions, pricing basis, normal timing and next step. If a quotation depends on inspection, explain that beside the price rather than after the customer calls.

The working package includes an entrance photograph, original service photographs, conditions, a current price list, an accountable contact and a booking page. Keep the creator, usage permission and review date for each image. Customer personal information is unnecessary in a demonstration. Do not present stock photography as evidence of completed work or copy reviews from another service as verified Yandex reviews.

A teaching brief might read: “Bicycle servicing by appointment. Inspection before repair approval. Parts charged after agreement. Use the main entrance; confirm opening hours and availability when booking.” Acceptance questions are practical: does this describe the actual workflow, are the services available, do prices match the destination, and is the telephone staffed during the stated hours?

Advertising review is separate from listing accuracy. Preserve the submitted version and moderation feedback, then fix the underlying issue. Do not disguise a prohibited service with neutral wording. Consult the material rules and material guidance. The process diagrams here are educational descriptions, not screenshots of an advertising account.

With the brief ready, register as an advertiser if you want to discuss a separate partner channel. Verify event support and terms first; registration neither connects Yandex nor automatically makes a service sale a payable conversion.

Keep map interactions separate from CRM outcomes

Teaching journey: listing → conditions → call or booking → unique enquiry → agreed order → completed service → closed cancellation window. Pressing the call button does not demonstrate a conversation. Building a route does not demonstrate attendance. A booked customer may still cancel. These stages must not be added together and labelled sales.

The general report describes profile traffic and user actions. The profile's automatic counter has predefined settings; do not promise to replace it with your own counter or add arbitrary events. Website and CRM measurement require their own agreed process. The definitions are in general company statistics.

Create a ledger with an internal enquiry ID, first-contact date, branch, source and confidence, service, status, rejection reason, net revenue, variable cost and closure date. Keep personal information in the protected CRM under applicable rules; use internal identifiers for analysis. Several contacts may belong to one order. Agree the deduplication rule before looking at campaign performance.

Separate paid, organic and unknown sources. “I found you on Yandex” does not identify Search versus Maps. Do not allocate unknown orders in proportion to clicks to make the campaign appear profitable. Where a replacement telephone number is available, verify its terms and operation. It can help measure calls; it does not prove purchases. See telephone-number replacement.

Run a controlled operational check

Before committing funds, establish whether the team can handle additional enquiries. Internally check the telephone, booking process and address display. Mark and exclude test enquiries. Save the selected payment terms privately in the working folder, not in a public case study. Do not create paid fictitious orders to test affiliate tracking.

During the first week, review missed calls, messages, appointment availability and location errors daily. Then compare weekly cohorts with the same maturation period. Establish a maximum completed-order acquisition cost and an acceptable cancellation rate in advance. These are management choices, not Yandex recommendations or statistical guarantees.

For website destinations, check the mobile form and submission confirmation. For listing destinations, check booking from the listing itself. Broken booking requires a repair before a budget increase. If customers are receiving promises the team cannot fulfil, stop making those promises and request the available campaign suspension; continue accounting for contractual commitments.

Scenario one: bicycle servicing and completed-order cost

An invented workshop purchases a 90-day subscription. The question is the economics of the whole subscription, not whether every order came from Maps. The team prepares entrance photographs, an operation list, a booking page and a contact ledger. It records the enquiry route separately and excludes orders with unknown provenance from the advertising-return calculation.

Period costs are advertising USD 540, photographs and writing USD 80, listing work USD 120, call measurement USD 30, enquiry review USD 70, and assumed non-recoverable taxes and fees USD 60. Total acquisition cost is USD 900. These are not published tariffs. Fixed rent is excluded, so the result below is contribution before fixed overhead, not net profit.

There are 150 contacts, including 20 repeats: 130 unique enquiries. Ten are outside the service or area, leaving 120 qualified enquiries. Ninety book; 12 cancel and six do not attend. Seventy-two orders are completed; two subsequently receive full refunds. The final count is 70 paid, non-refunded orders after the observation window closes. Dividing spend by 150 would measure contact cost, not customer acquisition cost.

Recognized revenue per successful order is USD 30 and variable fulfilment cost is USD 13. An additional USD 20 is lost on the fully refunded jobs and is not included in the successful-job costs. Revenue is USD 2,100; variable cost for successful jobs is USD 910. Contribution before acquisition is 2,100 − 910 − 20 = USD 1,170. After acquisition, USD 270 remains before fixed overhead.

Completed-order cost is 900 / 70 = USD 12.86. Against an assumed ceiling of USD 14, the economic threshold passes, although incrementality remains unproven. Covering USD 900 acquisition and USD 20 refund losses at USD 17 contribution per successful order requires at least 55 orders. This is the break-even arithmetic of the model, not a prediction of demand.

Decision: do not increase the commitment before checking source attribution, seasonality and workshop capacity. A fully booked team may turn additional advertising into additional cancellations. The next controlled test changes one factor, such as appointment clarity for a specific service. Expansion requires another mature cohort, the cost ceiling still being met and sufficient service capacity.

The teaching cohort covers enquiries collected over 90 days, reconciled on day 120 after a 30-day follow-up from the end of intake. All 30 qualified enquiries without bookings declined and were closed before reconciliation; none remain pending. The 12 cancellations and six no-shows occurred before parts purchases or work: assumed additional labour, travel and fee losses are zero. Handling is already included in USD 70; actual extra losses must be added separately. The USD 30 measurement line is internal setup and reconciliation work, not a charge for Yandex’s free replacement number.

Teaching stop rules prohibit expansion if cancellations plus no-shows exceed 25% of bookings or full refunds exceed 5% of completed jobs. Here 18/90 = 20% and 2/72 = 2.78%, so both pass. The day-14 review is operational and does not shorten the 90-day commitment; mature economics are assessed after final reconciliation.

Scenario two: cleaning and deceptively cheap contacts

An invented cleaning company with two genuine branches tests a separate chain-promotion product. Materials include the exact task list, exclusions for difficult contamination, authorized team photographs and a quotation form based on floor area. Each branch has its own schedule and dispatcher. An enquiry without a service address is not yet an agreed order.

Period costs are placement USD 400, materials USD 100, listing setup USD 80, measurement USD 40, enquiry processing USD 120 and assumed non-recoverable taxes and fees USD 60: USD 800 total. Verify this product's duration and terms separately. The first scenario's subscription duration does not automatically apply to a different contract.

Two hundred contacts include 40 duplicates, leaving 160 unique enquiries. Forty are outside the service area and 30 request unsupported work, leaving 90 qualified enquiries. Sixty orders are agreed; 15 cancel and 45 are completed. Five completed jobs receive full refunds, leaving 40 successful orders. Keeping cancellations and refunds separate preserves the costs of unsuccessful work already performed.

Recognized revenue is 40 × USD 40 = USD 1,600. Successful-job variable cost is 40 × USD 25 = USD 1,000. Unrecovered costs of refunded jobs add USD 80. Contribution before acquisition is USD 520; after acquisition it is negative USD 280 before fixed overhead. A contact cost only USD 4, yet a successful order cost USD 20 against USD 15 contribution before refund losses.

Decision: stop budget expansion. With other assumptions unchanged, at least 59 successful orders are needed to cover USD 800 acquisition and USD 80 losses. First clarify geography and exclusions in the materials, then inspect dispatcher handling. Do not remove inconvenient rejections from the ledger or relabel contacts as sales. A bounded retest should measure fewer unsuitable enquiries and refunds, not merely more clicks.

The assumed product is Priority placement, and Yandex has confirmed the company as an eligible chain; two addresses alone do not establish that status. Enquiries are collected for 90 days and reconciled on day 120. This is a measurement window; the purchased term depends on the contract. The other 30 qualified enquiries declined and are closed, with none pending. All 15 cancellations happened before travel or paid labour was committed: assumed additional losses are zero and handling is included in USD 120. The USD 40 measurement line is internal reconciliation, not a fee for Yandex’s replacement number.

The teaching stop thresholds are cancellations above 20% of agreed orders or refunds above 5% of completed jobs. Actual rates are 15/60 = 25% and 5/45 = 11.11%: both fail. Cheaper clicks cannot justify expansion before the causes are corrected and another mature cohort is reviewed.

Where AffiliateCore can fit

Completed services and service revenue in both scenarios are business outcomes in the CRM, not confirmed supported payable conversions in AffiliateCore. Registration does not enable a service-sale event. Before promising partner remuneration, separately verify the supported event, commercial terms and technical implementation. Relabelling a service sale as reg, ftd, deposit or revenue does not establish support.

Our AffiliateCore platform is a general CPA network for advertisers and publishers. Listing management and Yandex placement purchases happen with Yandex. This workflow assumes no automatic import of Maps calls, orders or costs into AffiliateCore. If the business separately wants partner acquisition, first prepare the offer, geography, permitted source, confirmation rules and cancellation policy, then verify the particular connection is possible.

Already registered? Sign in to the advertiser account and compare the available workflow with the prepared proposal. Do not create payable test conversions. A direct contractor relationship is another possible arrangement; compare labour, responsibilities and terms rather than product names alone.

The practical assignment before expansion

Prepare one listing for one service, one outcome ledger and two documents: the materials brief and the maximum order-acquisition-cost calculation. Ask a colleague who did not prepare the listing to follow the customer journey and explain the price, exclusions and booking method. If their understanding differs from yours, revise the conditions before widening exposure.

Final checks: authorized access; genuine location; correct address and hours; permitted materials; known full commitment; actions separated from orders; duplicates and unknown sources retained; mature cancellations; labour and losses included; available capacity. Increase spending only after these conditions pass. A high route-building count cannot substitute for any of them.

2GIS: from business listing to a retained paid job. Lead review: statuses, deadlines and disputed decisions.
