Tally, Typeform or Google Forms for lead collection

Compare one form specification across three services: branching, export, mobile checks, pricing and operating cost without invented conversion claims.

Tally, Typeform or Google Forms for lead collection

Choose the lead workflow, not the prettiest template

Tally, Typeform and Google Forms solve similar problems, but choosing by screenshot is risky. A polished form can lose a required export field, demand an unexpected login or hit a response limit. This guide produces the same specification for three services and a verifiable decision about which fits your process.

The review uses official documentation and pricing checked October 11, 2026. It is a documentary capability review, not an experiment with real visitors. We do not invent conversion rates, present client forms or claim to have submitted leads through each service. Before launch, the advertiser performs the acceptance test below in their own authorized workspace.

The illustrative region is Europe; the example requests a demonstration of an inventory tool. It is not a live AffiliateCore offer. Check service availability, data-processing terms, customer country and product eligibility for your situation. Do not collect documents, bank details or information unnecessary for answering the inquiry.

1. Define one identical form

Comparing ten fields in one service with three in another is meaningless. Use the same offer wording and structure:

  1. “What do you need?” — start inventory management or migrate an existing catalog.
  2. Service country, selected from the actual supported list. Unsupported countries receive an honest explanation without a service promise.
  3. Catalog format only for migration; skip it for a new setup.
  4. Work email for the reply and an optional task comment.
  5. A clear explanation of the inquiry's purpose; any marketing subscription is separate and voluntary.

Illustrative route: task → country check → relevant question only → contact → receipt confirmation. Contact collection must not become a hidden subscription. Do not request a phone number if the team only replies by email. Explain a realistic follow-up process rather than guaranteeing an immediate solution.

Prepare this structure before registering as an AffiliateCore advertiser. In AffiliateCore, complete applicable details and prepare your own offer draft. These form builders are external services, not built-in account features. Existing users can sign in.

2. Compare branching on the same task

Tally: documentation describes conditional logic and page jumps. Create a migration branch and check that changing an earlier answer does not leave a hidden required field. Consider it for a flexible, straightforward form; decide after your test, not a promised conversion advantage.

Typeform: documentation supports routes to questions and endings; logic setup uses the desktop builder. Distinguish editing from answering on a phone. Consider it for a sequential conversation, but make every additional screen justify itself. Animation and attractive styling do not replace a clear question.

Google Forms: answer-based section jumps apply to multiple-choice and dropdown questions. Use sections for this scenario. Do not assume every field supports branching. If you need more complex condition combinations, reproduce them before promising them to your team.

These are three implementations of one form. In each service, test both routes, an unsupported country, going back and an empty required contact field. Being able to press Publish does not make a form ready.

3. Test export before buying traffic

Official documentation confirms Tally CSV export, Typeform CSV/XLSX export from desktop, and Google Forms CSV plus linked Google Sheets. Export availability does not establish a working CRM or AffiliateCore integration.

Agree a field dictionary: record identifier, time and timezone, task, country, catalog format, contact, form version and separate marketing-choice status. Do not place email or phone details in URLs. A browser-supplied hidden parameter is not trusted proof of source or consent.

Use clearly labeled technical records in an authorized test form, not payable conversions. Compare submissions with exported rows; inspect blanks, answer values and non-Latin characters. Ensure a filter did not truncate the export. When importing the file twice, test duplicate prevention using the agreed identifier.

4. Keep currency and billing period with the price

At review time, Tally Pro documentation lists $29/month or $290/year. The viewed main pricing page displays euros and a different price presentation. Do not combine those snapshots: verify final currency, billing period, tax and total in your checkout. Free Tally is subject to fair use, not an unconditional promise of any workload.

Typeform Basic's pricing page displays $39 for monthly billing, $28/month as the annual equivalent, and 100 responses/month. Check your exact plan and what happens at the limit before paying. An annual equivalent does not mean you can buy one isolated month at that price.

We could not confirm a separate Forms price on the reviewed Google product page. Do not invent a subscription charge or assume your organization's costs are zero: check the applicable Google account or Workspace, administration, storage and additional tools. This is an explicit verification item, not a price ranking. Google Forms' help lists 1 GB and 500,000 responses per form from September 2026; verify applicable account limits before launch.

Illustrative total-cost calculation: 30 units of subscription + 40 setup + 20 manual reconciliation = 90 for the period. If 30 of 50 inquiries are accepted under consistent rules, form operating cost per accepted inquiry is 90/30 = 3. Advertising is excluded; this is not total acquisition cost. These numbers are not any service's tariff.

5. Mobile acceptance test

Open the published test URL on a phone and in a private window without the author's login. Access should match the intention: a public inquiry should not unexpectedly require corporate sign-in. Check email keyboard, labels, error messages, back navigation and horizontal overflow.

Complete both scenarios with the same answers. Correct a contact error, change the first answer, go back and finish. Record actual steps and obstacles. Timing one personal attempt does not prove that a service converts better.

Keep real customer contacts out of the test. Do not publish response results or spreadsheets to the whole internet. Grant staff access only as needed and assign responsibility for removing unnecessary test records. A polished thank-you screen does not prove that the owner received the record.

6. Decide without inventing a winner

Consider Tally for a flexible simple form, Typeform for a sequential conversation, and Google Forms for section-based routing and spreadsheet work, provided your requirements are confirmed. These are editorial selection scenarios, not an objective ranking of speed, security or profitability.

Decision record: service and plan; date checked; both routes; access without author login; export and timezone; limits; complete cost; owner; unknowns; decision. Lost records, wrong branches, inaccessible contact fields or unintended public access block launch regardless of appearance.

Exercise: complete a record for each candidate and choose against mandatory requirements. Then prepare your own AffiliateCore offer with a definition of an acceptable lead. Do not create somebody else's or an illustrative offer in the live catalog. Listing guarantees neither partners nor sales.
