Yandex Search or the ad network: cost per accepted enquiry

What is being compared

Yandex Search and the Yandex Advertising Network can send enquiries to the same landing page without becoming identical sources. Search begins with a query; the network introduces an offer in another context. The advertiser needs a comparison of full cost per finally accepted result under clear conditions, not a universal channel winner.

You will prepare two test records, one enquiry definition, a cost ledger and a next-budget decision. Examples concern ordinary permitted software and a household service in Russia. They establish neither category nor account availability and contain no gambler recruitment instructions. USD amounts are independent educational assumptions, not currency conversions, client results or AffiliateCore offers.

1. Verify eligibility and placement separation

Before setup, read current Direct requirements, category restrictions and terms for the specific advertising product. Check page content, documents, service country and actual promises, not merely the business label. If the scenario is prohibited, do not test; changing words does not remove a restriction.

Official campaign settings include placements, with available settings dependent on campaign type. There is no universal sequence of identical buttons for every account. Choose an available type that lets you documentably separate the required placements and spending. If combined delivery cannot be separated in reporting, that launch cannot answer this comparison.

Our method uses two identifiable tests, separate limits, the same landing page where promises match and one result definition. This is an operational recommendation, not a claim that platform algorithms behave identically. Automated strategies can respond to different data; record the selected strategy and changes.

2. Define a result before spending

“Lead” is too broad. Record product, territory, necessary information, duplicate rules, handling deadline, rejection reasons, cancellations and disputes. A button click, form submission and accepted enquiry are different events. Software might require a demonstration request from a suitably sized company; repairs might require a supported appliance inside the service area.

Separate received, under review, accepted, rejected and cancelled after acceptance. The final denominator contains accepted results after cancellations. Show open cases separately. Do not judge network leads worse merely because they have not yet been processed.

Use the same maturation period measured from enquiry date. Explain different decision cycles and analyse them separately if needed. Calendar-month totals may mix new enquiries from one source with old outcomes from another. If records cannot be linked, state that limitation; unrelated aggregates do not support exact end-to-end conversion.

3. Adapt materials to context

Search copy addresses an expressed need. Educational wording: “Two-warehouse inventory: check import and access limits before a demo.” Network copy explains the problem: “Stock figures differ between warehouses? Review process constraints and prepare software questions.” Neither should promise guaranteed profit growth.

The destination preserves product, terms, geography and event definition. If network readers need an additional explanatory page, record that route difference. You are then comparing two complete acquisition approaches, not isolating placement effects. Do not call it a clean experiment.

Prepare two texts, permitted images with rights, landing-page version, minimal form, events, nonpersonal source codes, budget, owner and deadlines. Never put contacts in tracking labels. Mobile verification should include a safe form test where test mode exists, without creating a fictitious payable conversion.

Use the resulting brief in our platform: register as an AffiliateCore advertiser and prepare your own proposal after account requirements. Verify product and source support first. An offer does not automatically launch Direct or guarantee recruitment of partners.

4. A permitted pilot protocol

  1. Verify product eligibility and material accuracy.
  2. Freeze the destination, result criteria and review rules.
  3. Separate source names and limits; preserve starting settings.
  4. Test the transition, event and status delivery through the supported integration.
  5. Begin bounded observation; check errors and handling capacity daily.
  6. Date changes; do not change rate, audience and promise together.
  7. Close the period, allow review and cancellations, reconcile costs with final results.
  8. Stop, repeat with a specific correction or approve a small next budget.

A technical test verifies data delivery, not earnings. A read-only API does not accept new events automatically. Use the actual supported integration; do not assume a CRM–AffiliateCore connection exists. Explain discrepancies among platform analytics, CRM and affiliate reporting using windows, definitions and available identifiers.

5. Educational example: software demonstrations

Assume ordinary software is available in Russia, sources are permitted, both tests run four weeks and every enquiry then undergoes the same review. The final event is an accepted demonstration request. Sources are measured separately; this is an operational comparison, not randomized causal evidence.

Search S: advertising USD 300, copy and page preparation USD 60, handling 40 enquiries × USD 1.50 = USD 60, tools USD 20. Full cost USD 440. Of 40 enquiries, 24 accepted, ten rejected and six cancelled. Advertising cost per raw enquiry is 300 / 40 = USD 7.50; full accepted-result cost is 440 / 24 = USD 18.33.

Network N: advertising USD 240, materials USD 100, handling 60 × USD 1.50 = USD 90, tools USD 20. Full cost USD 450. Of 60 enquiries, 20 accepted, 28 rejected and 12 cancelled. Raw advertising cost USD 4 looks better; full accepted-result cost USD 22.50 does not.

The predetermined limit is USD 20. S passes the educational filter; N does not. No additional affiliate commission is assumed: the advertiser pays placements directly. Advertising amounts are final invoice costs. Add taxes, agency fees or platform charges if billed separately; do not double-count amounts already included.

Decision: repeat S within a small limit using the same quality definition. For N, inspect whether company size and software limitations were clear. Change one substantive condition, such as the opening explanation, and create a new cohort. Do not erase old rejections to improve the average.

6. Educational example: washing-machine repair

Assume a provider serves one city and specific models, both channels allow the materials and advertised visit times are feasible. The form needs model, district, fault description and voluntary contact. Do not promise an exact repair price before diagnosis when it depends on the fault. Example message: “Check your district and model before requesting diagnosis.”

Search S: advertising USD 180, preparation USD 30, handling 30 × USD 1 = USD 30, tools USD 10. Total USD 250. Thirty enquiries yield 18 accepted, eight rejected and four cancelled. Full accepted-result cost USD 13.89.

Network N: advertising USD 120, preparation USD 50, handling 25 × USD 1 = USD 25, tools USD 10. Total USD 205. Of 25 enquiries, 17 accepted, five rejected and three cancelled. Full cost USD 12.06. With a predetermined limit of USD 13, the network passes and search does not. This reverses the first example, without predicting any real service's outcome.

All enquiries' handling is included. Additional fees are assumed absent; add actual ones. Completed-repair margin is not calculated, so an inexpensive accepted lead is not necessarily a profitable job. A large-budget decision needs completed work, final revenue and variable service costs.

Repeat procedure: confirm coverage, test the mobile journey, agree one response deadline, launch separate bounded budgets, close reviews and analyse cancellations. For search, inspect whether queries match supported models. For the network, maintain clear territory. Do not expand geography beyond team capacity.

7. Stop or expand

Stop spending immediately for prohibited placements, inaccurate promises, broken measurement or insufficient handling capacity. Economic stopping follows the predetermined budget and mature results, not indefinite waiting for “learning.” Too little data means uncertainty, not permission for unlimited spending.

Expansion is a small next step with acceptable full costs, understood cancellations and spare capacity. Review the new cohort separately: a larger budget can change audience composition and price. Previous cost is not a guarantee. Seasonality and competitors remain possible explanations until investigated.

Keep dates, source, material version, costs, raw enquiries, accepted results, rejections, cancellations, open cases, limit and next hypothesis. Use the advertiser acceptance map to prepare rules. Sign in to AffiliateCore to apply agreed conditions to your own offer draft. Do not publish an educational offer in the real catalogue or promise automatic approval and results.
